Terminator Zone
Soldiers are being murdered by an invisible killer who only strikes during the "terminator zone" of dusk and dawn. General Harkins recruits split-brain detective Neil and psychic Mavra to stop the high-tech threat quietly. A high-stakes, technothriller mystery for fans of gritty suspense and military sci-fi.
Fascinating and mysterious
What is Newcity? Why is Keith different? Can Keith trust Nellie? The outsiders? The escapees? What is everyone's motive and plans? What are the apparitions? A puzzle wrapped in a mystery surrounded by an enigma. What fun!
Excellent mystery!
Excellent mystery. Was it murder? Was it an accident? A janitor wants some excitement in his life, and he finds it. Great fun read.
Exciting science fiction
Excitement begins on page one and never stops: space battles, hand-to-hand combat, betrayals, spies, human greed, manipulative aliens, alien carnivores. Who are the good guys? Who are the bad guys? Fun roller coaster ride.
I did not see THAT coming!
It was perfect! The battle of the AI's. Good vs. evil. Whew! Nicely done.
My Review
Flight to Earth Seven chronicles the voyage of a starship from an Earth that is becoming uninhabitable. Thousands of passengers are placed in suspended-animation pods for the trip to Kepler 452b, a planet they have dubbed Earth Seven, which is suitable for them to settle and populate. Their hope is to create a new society better than the one that doomed Earth. A society based on honesty, kindness, and compassion. The problem? The voyage will take over 4,381 years. Although much of the ship’s operation is automated, the builders anticipated situations that would require human intervention. Maintenance Crew One is designated the first to be reanimated should they be needed. Maintenance Crew One consists of four couples (called CCPs), who were paired by computer, both for their skills in keeping the ship operating properly and for their compatibility with one another. Like all arranged marriages, these pairings are fraught with possibilities, both happy and disappointing. Whenever catastrophe strikes, the crew is torn from the seductive dreamworld of the pods and thrust back into the world of the failing ship. Each reanimation is harder than the last, as the lives they were living in the dream world begin to feel more real than the waking world. Persun draws each character with precision—strengths, flaws, and the shifting loyalties that define them. New dangers emerge throughout the voyage, resolved in unexpected and sometimes tragic ways. Persun proves himself a master of suspense, crafting wonderfully detailed and unforgettable sequences while demonstrating a deep understanding of the ship’s technology, its vulnerabilities, and the brutal decisions required to keep the mission alive. Yet beneath the action lies the novel’s beating heart—the evolving relationships among the crew. After every return to consciousness, they must ask themselves, “Are we the same people who went under? And can we still trust one another?” Near the end of the voyage, the crew will face their greatest challenges and make decisions that could haunt them forever. Not replacing faulty parts or making risky space walks to make vital repairs, but to try to undo what thousands of years of suspended animation has done to their fellow travelers. Flight to Earth Seven is a fully realized interstellar odyssey—its science intricate yet accessible, its human drama complex and deeply felt.
Existence is essential reading
I loved the pace and message of this timely book. Bill Brown uses a tense, exciting story to give a warning to all of us about saving our planet. He exposes the primary reason our current environmental crisis is not being addressed. He crafts a real-life scenario of the consequences of greed and the quest for power. This is one of Brown's best!
The Haunted Goldfield Hotel
I really loved this book. I have lived in Nevada for 46 years and have read Janice's other book about Goldfield, and specifically about the Goldfield Hotel. I have yet to drive down there, but it is on my bucket list. It is about some of the people who lived in Goldfield in the past and who are now ghosts, these are the good ghosts that are based on real people. There are demons in the hotel now and the crew of paranormal investigators and a demonologist work to get the evil demons and evil ghosts out through a portal. The evilest ghost is based on a former owner of the hotel. There is one very slight problem that I had with book, but it is my personal feeling. I feel that the demonologist and his partner should not have been driving a Cybertruck. Minor issue. Otherwise, a great book.

Goldfield
Great fun read dealing with ghosts AND demons. Loved the idiosyncratic characters and the cool manifestations.
Exxcellent, foreshadows colonization
The book was very exciting and difficult to put down. Not only were there inherint dangers in space, but the conflicts between the crew were realistic and relatable. The characters were fully developed and sympathetic. I cannot wait for the sequel.
I love reading books by local authors in my area, and it's even better when I know them. I had the pleasure of participating at a book show with Andrea and we exchanged books. She thought this one was something I would enjoy, and she was right! And The Mist Was On The Mountain is a beautiful book about family, love, and resilience. It takes place in the Colorado Rockies on a family ranch called The Running C. The main character is a woman named Liz, and when the book opens, she has just lost her husband of many years, Rob, to cancer. In the days that followed, her wonderful children and extended families rallied around her for support and plans to carry on the farm. No one is more surprised than Liz when a handsome professor arrives and sweeps her off her feet. It is a whirlwind love affair for the ages. And never let it be said that romance is only for the young. Andrea writes their story with fire and passion and keeps the reader wanting more with every page. I love books where I am right there in the pages. I want to see and feel the landscape, the emotions, the good times, and tough times. This book has all of that from the beautiful way she describes the landscape, the abundant family dinners and celebrations that happen, and even the hard truths about farm life and animals. It's a great book!
One of my favorite short stories that just sounds wonderful!
This is an enchanting story that is performed so well by Jim Patton. The biggest surprise is John Oji, a young man who speaks the parts of Red Chief! How fun to have a boy speak the parts, and he did it so very well. The two kidnappers are completely overwhelmed by the youngster in the story. Jim is very skilled as a narrator and his accent here makes the story that much more fun to listen to. I highly recommend this story and his other works in audible.
